AfricaCom evolves with new AfricaTech event

Taking place in Cape Town, South Africa from 12-14 November, this year’s conference and exhibition will also introduce AfricaTech. As the telecommunications and technology sectors have grown and with it, the convergence of the ICT industry, so has the need for dedicated space and content focused on enterprise digital transformation, which AfricaTech addresses.

AfricaTech is the part of AfricaCom dedicated to IT and enterprise digital transformation. Designed to help attendees successfully navigate their digital transformation journeys, AfricaTech will take over the whole of CTICC 2 and include an exhibition area split into dedicated technology zones, as well as play host to tech-focused tracks and features including AI Africa, Fintech, IoT Africa and new for 2019, Data Centres Africa.

AfricaCom, in CTICC 1, remains the home of connectivity and communications, featuring the biggest ICT exhibition on the continent and industry-defining conference tracks such as 5G Africa, Wholesale Telecoms Africa, Video Exchange Africa, Connecting Africa and more.

What to expect for 2019

The 2019 edition of this global event is expected to attract 15,000 attendees, 450 speakers and an impressive 500 exhibitors. In addition to the significant amount of expert free content on offer for visitors, AfricaCom and AfricaTech will present a series of premium content, targeted exposure to industry verticals, as well as, an all-access pass for paying delegates, which also includes entrance to the AfricaCom’s very own music festival, the AFest.

AfricaCom headliners will return in 2019 and are once again completely free to attend. Speakers already confirmed include the likes of; the Hon. Mohamed Rahman Swaray, the newly appointed Minister of Information and Communications for the Republic of Sierra Leonne; Ahmad Ahmad, president at Confederation of African Football (CAF); Calvo Mawelo, CEO at MultiChoice Group and Isabel Dos Santos, chair at Unitel.

Other show favourites due to return are the AHUB, LeadersIn Africa Summit and the AfricaCom Awards, that recognise the sterling efforts and innovation organisations and individuals are doing to realise Africa’s full digital potential.
