After an incident of propulsion system leakage on April 7, Intelsat S.A confirmed late on April 18 that it has lost one of its satellites made by Boeing Co. Service disruption to customers on the satellite, Intelsat 29e, was caused after the reported incident of April 7. The company verified that while attempts were being made to recover the satellite, a second problem occurred “after which all efforts to recover the satellite were unsuccessful.” Other Intelsat and third-party satellites have been engaged for providing restorative paths for majority of the disrupted services. Shares on Intelsat fell 1.8% in the extended session after ending the regular trading day up 1.4%. Boeing shares were flat after closing 0.7% higher on Thursday.
